MLB Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels 2018 MLB Baseball online free live stream Regular Season high quality(HD) broadcast on June 14, 2018 at Stadium: LHP Marco Gonzales, Location: Seattle Mariners,Game Time: 01:40 PM PDT. Los Angeles wraps up their series with Seattle on Wednesday afternoon at Safeco Field. The Mariners continue to rocket up the AL West after taking the first game of the series. The Angels have lost two in a row after stringing together a lengthy winning streak.

Los Angeles begins life without Shohei Ohtani with losses. Prior to that, the team has somewhat caught up in the division with six straight wins. The dual pitcher-hitter is on the disabled list and isn’t expected to be back until at least the end of July. That only holds true if his UCL sprain in the left elbow doesn’t require surgery. First baseman Jefry Marte (.262 avg) missed the opener against Seattle with a left wrist injury and it’s unknown when he’ll make his return.

Richards had a second straight no-decision against Minnesota last Friday. It was another tough one to accept has he allowed just two earned runs on six hits through 5.1 innings. He’s allowed three total runs in his last two outings and has a ratio of 16 strikeouts to 4 walks.

The Mariners have pushed their record to 17 games over .500 and have already gone 7-2 in June. Three more one-run wins in Tampa pushes their season total to 21. At some point, we just have to throw out the projections and accept that this team is far better than we thought they’d ever be (more on that tomorrow). This upcoming stretch against the Angels, Red Sox, and Yankees looks daunting but I’m feeling excited about it, rather than dreading it. It’s four of the best teams in the American League duking it out over the next couple of weeks. It should make for some great baseball.

Seattle also suffered a major setback with a long suspension for Robinson Cano, but the team continues to succeed without him. They took the opener 5-3 on Monday night, coming back from a two-run deficit in the first inning — they tied it up in the bottom of the frame. They’ve now won four of their last five games. Designated hitter Nelson Cruz (.260 avg) has been dominant lately, putting up four home runs in his last three games (15 total this season).

Gonzales has recorded four straight victories on the mound and continues to be a major part of the Mariners’ success. It was his worst outing, giving up two earned runs on five hits through 7.1 innings. He’s allowed four total runs in those outings and continues to bail out the offense.

With Simmons out, the Angels have had to shuffle their infield a bit. Luckily, Zack Cozart is a pretty good defensive shortstop and can easily shift over from third. But it also means that Luis Valbuena will be seeing regular playing time until Simmons returns and that’s probably not a good thing. An oblique strain has sidelined Kole Calhoun but it’s probably good that the Angels got his bat out of the lineup for a while. They’ve called up Michael Hermosillo to replace him in right field and it should be pretty easy for Hermosillo to surpass Calhoun’s wRC+ of 3 (not a typo—three!). A quick update on Mike Trout: he’s posting the highest wRC+ of his career and has already accumulated almost five wins already. It’s becoming a common refrain, but I think we’re going to see how far Trout can carry this team on his own, again.

The Angels (37-29) closed out their set with the Twins by dropping the Sunday finale, 7-5. Despite the L, the Halos still had some good news when Albert Pujols passed Stan Musial on the all-time RBI list. Next up is the Mariners, the top team in the American League West at 41-24. Los Angeles trails Seattle by 4 1/2 games in the standings. Seattle is 7-3 in their last 10 games, 15-5 in the last 20. Note: Monday and Tuesday's games can be seen on FOX Sports GO.
